Precision product line includes Billet Cog Belt Pulley kits for both
Small Block and
Big Block Chevy engines. The kits are designed for Chevy engines with
either short or long water pumps and come in a 1” or 2” wide belt system.
Black Mountain Precision, formally Billet
Racing Products, is a high performance CNC machine shop that has
specialized in the design and fabrication of custom racing and
hotrod parts since 1993. Located in Montague, California, Black
Mountain Precision is a family owned business utilizing
state-of-the-art HAAS machines.
Some years ago, I found the need to design a
better pulley system to run the alternator and water pump on my 1966
Big Block Chevelle. After installing high performance parts into the
Chevelles’ 427 engine, the motor revved to 7800 so quickly it caused
the stock V-belts to fly off every time.
After designing several pulley prototypes, I
found that using a HTB 8MM pitch Cog Belt Pulley System kept the
belt on perfectly. I then designed and fabricated a 1” wide Cog Belt
Pulley System for my 1966 Chevelle. 12,000 miles back and forth to
work and a few passes at the local drag strip later, I took the
Billet Cog Belt Pulley System off of my Chevelle’s 427 Chevy engine
to check for wear and found the Cog Belt Pulley System to be in
great condition.
